I love the anticipation in this one. Just knowing that soon they will be enjoyed by a small fuzzy animal is really cool. I like the colors of the lighter peanuts playing on the darker background.

What a great shot of these peanuts in the shell, showing all the various textures and details as well as colorations in the various nuts. Focus is very sharp and lighting nicely subdued. We put peanuts out on our deck sometimes for chipmunks and squirrels, often blue jays show up and make off with quite a few;we see them burying them in the yard!

Why squirrels.? I would munch on them any time of the day! we call them 'ground nuts here!).Nice shot! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

I hope you realize what you have done? From now till the end of time the squirrels will follow you. No matter how far away you go. Peanuts in the shell are like opium to an addict - gotta have it.

Sometimes the most creative scenes are the most simple - a hand full of peanuts and viola a fine photograph.

Many times when I see a take like this that is almost a monochrome, I suggest converting it to B&W. Not this time. The color range may be narrow but changing to B&W would take to much of the flavor from the scene.

Technical factors are all within optimal range for best DOF, detail, clarity and lighting.

Well done nature piece ... B-)) Bob

You know what is one of the things I love about artist? The fact they can appreciate the smallest things and find beauty in all that is around them. Nice simple photo with great clarity, detail and depth in the shadowed effects. Nice photo to share to remind all to appreciate the simple things as well as the big things.

Hi Meg thanks for sharing this yummy snack for the squirrels to nibble in your driveway. Appreciate your accompanying story.. I think the squirrels would enjoy their treats and probably broadcast the news to all their neighboring squirrel friends. Great shot of the peanuts in their shells. A lovely clear picture with good exposure and lighting. The array of peanuts boast their different shades of earthy tones and textures. Nice to see how some are partially split, adding a helping hand for the squirrel feast.. I am assuming , by your notes that squirrels aren't considered pests around the gardens.. They are cute little animals and must delight in being fed by your kind self. Thanks for sharing your nut collection and the lovely story. . a pleasure to review. cheers mel

I can see that there would be a contest for these. Between the squirrels and ME there would definitely be a issue. I Love peanuts like these right out of the shell. Nice shot as you got the many different hues of brown in the shells. Really nice work Mary Eileen ~ Steve

These would be gone in a nano second down here. My aunt puts them out every day. And as soon as she turns to go in.. the squirrels and blue Jays are there.
They even broke thru her screen porch to get to the 10 pound bag she bought.
Interesting subject shooting peanuts in your driveway.
Nice focus and creative capture.

Well the squirrels will love these. They will bury them like they do in my yard when I am constantly digging up peanuts in the spring when I plant flowers. I think they should enjoy them immediately. I love peanuts and the animals seem to love them too. Nice thoughtful gesture that the hungry outside will surely enjoy.

A nice winter thing to do. We put them in a wire feeder in our garden. Your nice image benefits from a good composition, it's sharp and well exposed. Nicely done!
