This is beautiful, Deborah and thank you for the informative notes and fascinating story accompanying this. I love how you filled the frame with this beautiful Tiger Lily, looking into the depths with the multicoloured centre. The dark background foliage makes a perfect frame. Excellent lighting and focus showing a crisp image in your night garden. Lovely composition. I like the narrow frame you applied, too. Suzanne

you said no mixed media here, still, the colors and tones look unnatural and like some filter was run on then

also, the fact that part of the pedals are cut off disturbs

thanks for sharing

GG I have told you this more than once. I do NOT MM my photos- EVER! This is night-time photography...w/ a flashlight- NOTHING ELSE! Also stated in my notes that the image was concentrating on the stamen. You are free to knock off points for cut off petals however, please stop accusing me of lying about using MM.

Wow, this fantastic and very eye catching. I love the night time photo shoot with the lighting. It looks like a flame! Love the storytelling! Very interesting! Love the array of colors here...orange, yellow, blues and green. Very pleasing to the eye! Thanks for sharing!

COOL,Deb!
That's a great looking photo of another one of my 'all time favorite' flowers,my friend! : D
These things figure into certain Traditions of Witchcraft & 'HooDoo' too and I remember naming my old heavily built up 'Modified Production' class drag racing '68 Ford Falcon 'Tiger Lily' back in the mid '70s too! ( I've just always liked the sound of that name I guess! : D )
'Good Show',my friend!

You are a very cool guy Sean! LOVE that you named your car 'Tiger Lily'! Such a great name for a car...and something I never ever thought of myself. Anyway, thank you for such a wonderful review....the 'Good Show'...and the shiny gold star. I really appreciate all three. Now, you already for what's coming your way???

If there was a 5 1/5 star I would give it to you. Just not quite a sixer. i love what you have done by pushing the color and saturation. It moves the flower into a fantasy realm. Very good focus on the center but I feel like you are losing too much focus as you move out from the center. Some of that detail would strengthen the whole picture. Nice movement and background. Well seen.

Do appreciate the well thought out review Charles. Thank you for that. Under most circumstances I would completely agree but w/ this piece I felt I wanted the petals not as crisp so that the stamen at the center would command all the attention. But as I said I am very pleased to read through your logic and thank you for the really fine review you've given my new piece.

That should have been 5 1/2 stars. I always enjoy looking at good work.

Well thank you Charles. I appreciate that. Used to be a 5.5 when I first joined. It got so much argument....and disgruntled comments....as you can imagine lol that they discontinued using it.

My pleasure, not sure how much longer I will in 1st, it takes a lot of reviewing to get my post up to where they get the most reviews, plus have a lot of problems were finding with this house we bout last April, have a great night, we had 60degs, for 2 days and today 3to6 inches of wet snow,
reply by the author on 02-Mar-2018
I think the most important thing is to post two pieces a day Dale. Seems that gets more points than anything. We are having snow and sleet today too....sigh....but at least Feb. is over! YEAH!

Wow. This one really caught my eye right off. The dramatic colors are so complimentary and the entire photo looks ethereal and almost other worldly. Too bad it isn't a painting. I was going to offer $1Million Dollars for it. As it is a photo, I will give you Six stars for it. Great one BB ~ Steve
