A well structured and fairy well composed mixed media/digital piece depicting Jesus here in this certain scene from the bible. The different shades of lush green of the foliage that surround him and the different types of plant there really fill the piece, whilst contrasting well with the dry stone wall he rests upon and his blue clothing. The reason I have dropped 1/2 a star is because, as with a lot of mixed media pieces, getting the balance right is difficult and I find in this piece it isn't as well merged and blended as it could be. Other than that the detail is fantastic, the sense of depth and scale, along with the proportion and detail of Jesus himself, is fantastically done and a good strong image, just subtler merging would improve the great piece further from a personal perspective. Lovely work, well done :)

I can't thank you enough for your wonderful review and your helpful comments. I always flourish more with a constructive critique of my work. If you had ever seen some of my early pieces you'd see I have come along way, but am nowhere near what I see in my mind's eye when I'm attempting any work. However, this isn't a mixed media digital painting. I created this piece with a software paint called twisted brush. The stones are fairly performed in the software but I have to add the detail. I may have went overboard with the stone wall and have it appear to be the main focus point. Is that what you were referring to? As I am viewing this piece it does seem off balance as you say. It seems that's what I am now seeing. Please let me know if I was correct in what you were viewing. This is always a great help. thank you again

I didn't notice any contest just wanted to get this series posted for Easter. the greens in the painting are a preformed brush in twisted brush. I just use the shading and placement so I guess its a bit cheat but shhhh don't tell anyone LOL

Thank you, my friend, so yet another kind review. I didn't realize there was a faith contest so this one isn't entered in any but then there is so much amazing talent on here this is one of the lesser works in my opinion. Thank you again for being so kind. I just posted the second in this Easter series title, by his stripes we are healed and the second one for fun called angry gorilla just for kicks LOl
