Something very different and original and an appropriate entry to the flowing water contest;
good framing and focus with excellent control of exposure for the white;

A great capture of this meeting point of the freezing flowing water and the build up of ice slowly growing from it into fascinating shapes and formations. I'm a big fan of photographing ice and the uniqueness and sculptural beauty it holds, and this shot, taken with good sharp clarity, low natural lighting and good DOF is a classic example of just that. The ice "castle" to the left is amazing and the slowly forming icicles on the thick and hardened ice above has impressive detail and complex structures, contrasting with it's very own creator and substance, the dark water flowing through. The blurred foliage to the bottom right gives good contrast and also a sense of perspective - a great capture, well done and good luck in the polls! :) P.S If you're interested have a look in my portfolio for the 2 or 3 ice images I have posted, you may like them! :)

This is a good contest entry. Since it is for a contest, I wanted to point out that the image is a little bit blurred. I am not talking about the greenery on the bottom right. I am talking about the ice. Nice composition. Well framed. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image
