Hi Jack thanks for sharing this awesome photo of the lush countryside and that delightful rainbow that is spreading joy over the mountains. Yes I too have seen a double rainbow in the sky. such a stunning sight. as for the pot of gold. yep.. heard that saying ... guess we believe what we want to be believe eh Jack.. and why not take the positive thoughts and let them flow.
Your photo has a lovely peaceful emotion flowing within... and the excellent exposure and lighting bring out the best in this rich green grassed country. Love the angle used to capture the fields , all neatly fenced and stretching into the distance towards the homesteads in the background. . The luscious green grassy paddocks appear to be possible fodder crops and the pasture to the left has obviously been slashed and in preparation for seeding sometime soon. I like that little clump of bushes in the foreground to the right .. it balances nicely with the tree line in the left foreground.. which seems to divide the pasture which lies in front of it, from that more baron paddock behind. The rich green trees and mountains in the background are a nice contrast in tone to the grasses, and give an excellent feeling of distance and depth of field to the scene. The homestead on the right with its a- frame roof and timber fencing gives a real homely flavor to the picture as do the cars parked out the front ..
And of course.. the rainbow.. it is beautifully stretched right across the scene boasting its glorious colours for the world to enjoy.. The end of the rainbow which we cannot see might just be the end with that pot of gold Jack.. too bad we cant track it to see.... but it is perfect as this gives the imagination a chance to run wild and wonder what lies beyond.. The fleecy white clouds drifting in the sky give a nice feeling of movement and offer a nice contrast in the blue sky.. That white house in the distance adds interest and contrast .. a nice inclusion... Such glorious country .. glad you stopped to capture that rainbow and give us the pleasure of enjoying its beauty.. Thanks for sharing Jack.. a real joy to review. cheers mel

God's prismatic covenant!
A feel good image giving us hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Verdant foreground against a subtle blue backdrop.
Subdued lighting.

Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

I love rainbows! Who doesn't? Always magical when you see one. You have captured a wonderful photo. I feel like singing somewhere over the rsinbow.
You have a great vantage point on this. Very well done!

This is a gorgeous capture of this beautiful rainbow that looks like it extends to infinity.
Large and gorgeous the shot looks like a dome covering the entire beautiful landscape.
Focus is clear and photo is beautifully detailed. Great timing getting this beauty.

Oh, yes, that is a well known, long time sting here in the UK! Your nice photo benefits from being well composed, sharp with good exposure. A real nice countryside shot!

Nice catch here Jack. Good color saturation of the rainbow colors as the water droplets scatter the sunlight. I have scene two complete arched rainbows (double rainbows) only a couple of times. They were so vivid that they were almost hard to look at. The pot of gold at the end I believe started in Ireland with the stories about the Leprechauns and how they jealously guarded the pots of gold. Nice work here Jack ~ Steve

Jack - Rainbows are fun to shoot. Speaking of doubles, have you noticed how the color order are opposite each other?

This is a well exposed classic shot of a rainbow.

The colors of the rainbow are bright and each color variation is seen in the strong part of the bow.

Strong initial visual impact from the classic style framing.

The color and tonal range is balanced and not over saturated. The color palette is harmonious and life like.

This take is technically excellent up to a point. When you are on the road and it's a bright sunny day I'll bet you wear your favorite polarized sunglasses - right?

Why? Because they reduce glare and increase visual acuity - contrast.

My point - put a pair of polarized sunglasses on your camera and the lens sees the same as you. With the addition of a Circular polarizer lens your images will show noticeable heightened resolution, reduced glare, sharper cloud edges and skies take on a gradually deepening cobalt blue.

I am a landscape shoot and I never leave without one in the bag or in my pocket. There is nothing like the light at the golden hour, but a CPL lets you shoot in the brightest of the suns light ... B-)) Bob

Wow! What a great catch! Yeah I still chase rainbows for that pot of gold. Some seem just out of your reach! I'm gonna get it some day! Overall very nice piece of work. Bright colors, with the greyish clouds that makes the rainbow just pop out. Thank you for sharing. :)
