Awwwww, bless her heart! Good job Comanche! This is just amazing. I remember some of your photos in December with the deer in the snow and you are right, I believe this is much higher. It's a beautiful capture! Lol I just love it!

Ah what a beautiful snow shot! I admit my envy! Comanche is a great addition to the scene...she adds perspective and looks to be "swimming" in the snow, keeping her head above water so to speak. But she does look to be having fun!

Hello there Bill! So nice to find you here at the end of this review. You're right here.....she just LOVES the snow! I think she thought this was a real treat....lol Thank you so much for going and having a look at this one and I do so appreciate the extra special rating. I'll tell Comanche too b/c the photo would have just been boringly plain w/o her in it.....this image is all about her!

Hello Miss Deborah! I remember how Holly loved the snow. It was a treat for her to play in the snow. I agree with you, without Comanche, the photo would have been rather boring. Snow and trees. She brings the life.

This is great,I could replace Comanche with Shiloh in this shot! At least we only got an extra couple of inches, but still have the crap from the previous storm. It looks pretty, but is a bitch to trudge through, tho Shiloh would take advantage of the deer trails, snacking as he went! First day of spring is Tues.,so this stuff better be gone-lol! LeeAnn

A bitch is right LeeAnn....even getting to my wood shed is more of a challenge now. No way in hell all this snow is going to be gone by Tuesday. I'm just hoping it will all be gone by May at this rate....OMG that sounds awful. Thank you so much for checking this one out.....and chin up.....think of how much we will REALLY appreciate spring when it FINALLY arrives.

Some Serious Snow.....a good title and storytelling and so enjoyed reading your artist notes. A good perspective with Comanche chasing the deers trail and pushing his way through the snows gives us an idea about it's depth. A beautiful winters scene with Comanche leading us into your photography and beautiful evergreens covered in snow. Your lighting, focus, details and contrast are excellent. A gorgeous winter scene ....outstanding photography. Thanks for sharing.

.... And there could be another snow event early next week ... UGhhhhh.

Looks like Comanche knows how to break a trail. And that is good - as long as an old deer track is where you ant to go.

Well controlled white balance.
An interesting initial impact.
Excellent technical settings.
A very well composed and exposed image with a lot of human interest.

To help you keep your perspective on things, allow me to relate to you the facts behind an aborted trip to my sisters house.

Its 'Mud Season' 1954 and I'm with my father on a visit to my sister in Brownington. 12 miles of dirt road after Orleans in one of the worse seasons anyone could recall - What could go wrong?

My dad stopped at the edge of the pavement looking at the sea of inhospitable ooze ahead of us. I think he was remembering the words of Father Laliberte last Sunday - "Life is like driving on muddy roads, be careful which rut you chose b/c your gonna be in it a long time"

Off we go. After a few miles we saw a hat in the middle of the road. My father not being one to pass up an item of utility and quality that was free of moral and/or monetary encumbrance's stopped ordered me out to retrieve his new hat.

Reaching the hat I pick it up and much to my surprise, to say the least, I see the face of Maurice, my brother-in-law. Gathering my composure I asked "Is there any thing I might be able to do to ease your predicament?"

Maurice replied "No, no - you see I'm still astride my best horse and I'm sure that with a little more encouragement he will have us both out of here bye and bye." I nodded and was about to leave when Maurice asked in a most commanding manner " Would you please replace my hat - Suns wicked hot this mornin."

So you see, could be worse ... OMP

LOL My dear OMP- no-one....and I mean NO-ONE spins a yarn as well as YOU do. I wondered halfway through this where you were going....lol and believe me I wouldn't have guessed. Only someone who has experienced Mud Season on the back roads could write (or appreciate for that matter) this story! Been smiling about it since I read it! Thank you so much for 'sharing' hahahaha You're the best!

we had to brace ourselves down here in Florida..it got down into the high 30's last night..brrrrrrr..thats ok it will back in the 70's this afternoonn.evil grin..lol. cool capture. the angle of the dog trodding thru the deep snow is great. the capture of the light is great. the clarity is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing (for those who like snow) to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

LOL 'high 30's' MK! I was thrilled a couple of weeks ago when it warmed up to the high 30's and my washing machine line thawed out...lol At least w/ all this snow the temps have remained pretty stable here so I don't whine about the cold.....just all the crazy snow. Thank you for checking out my latest piece. Do appreciate the fine review too. Now you stay warm....evil grin...lol

Wow, that's a lot of snow! Showing Comanche in the snow really emphasizes how deep it is. Excellent sharpness and lovely morning light. Very well done!

I'd been trying to figure how to show all this snow I've been whining about Barbara. Comanche here gave me the perfect opportunity! Thanks so much for having a look. Do appreciate the lovely review you've given it.
