You have documented the Niagara falls system quite well - this another fine example of excellent white balance control and camera technique.

Excellent job of timing the frame to include the bird. It gives the entire take a sense of the real. It also sets the magnitude of the scale between the two.

Color and tonal range are near monochrome. However the various shades of blue through green to white is visually impressive.

In order to get the bird so well visualized I presume you used a fast shutter speed, in most cases that negates the milky stream effect.

In this case as with all long distance shots of a large body of moving water a faster shutter speed is advantageous in establishing scale and scope of coverage - well done.

Thanks for sharing this take with me ... B-)) Bob

I see the bird even through the mist. I must say I think he is very brave. This is a very nice photo. Displays movement and interest. Well framed. The bird is just a little speck against the grand Niagara falls but then again we are as well.
A spectacular site.
Nice captured shot.

A fantastic view of this magnificent natural wonder, taken from a great POV and in good lighting that shows the fine mist of the spray created by the hundreds of thousands of gallons of water that pass over the drop each minute. A brave bird flies solo through the mist to the left, hence your apt title - the slow fade away from the spray reveals the falls and surrounding rocks and foliage with sharp clarity, and good long DOF gives good perspective to the scale of the piece, with the dark green trees in the b/g creating a good contrast to the light colour of the water and sky above. Overall a great capture with good composition, well done :)

I like how clearly that bird can be seen! Nice timing. The water is a great color and you captured the motion well. The spray is attractive in the way that it appears to curve around the falls.

A gorgeous scene of Niagara Falls....such a powerful falls you can hearing the rushing of water and so beautiful the lone bird flying over. I love the capture of the spray of water adding to the dynamics of this scene. Your lighting, focus, details, and contrast are excellent. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing!

Just wish the misty water had not been so prominent in this as it sort of makes the photo a slight blur, and maybe if you had moved to the left it would have reduced that effect, but does look an awesome place to visit...Brian

Hi there Nickman .. wow check out that lone bird taking its chances flying through that mist created by the Niagara Falls. What a fabulous shot of the falls.. Awesome angle used to capture the full flow of the water as it rushes over that rock wall with unbelievable force .. creating that explosive wash that looks like a huge mist spray.. Considering the depth that water falls, the mist has even risen way above the rock wall itself.. just shows the intensity of the splashing water as it crashes to its destination below. amazing. Is it noisy.. I imagine it would be.. The whitewash of the cascading wall of water compliments that green/ blue hue of the water itself and really adds to its beauty. I like the inclusion of the foliage in the background and the running river surface that appears before it reaches the wall.. It places good perspective on the size of that wall and offers good depth of field to the scene. Now as for that bird.. it is like a speck of black, almost lost in the mist through which it is flying.. I am amazed that it feels confident to fly through... Obviously has its feathers in that position where they don't actually get penetrated by the water.. Otherwise woooppss.. down goes the bird never to be seen again. I wonder if you were aware of that bird when you took the photo.. I think it should be given a bravery award... Fabulous shot with excellent exposure and the lighting is excellent.. Wonderful clarity shows me just how captivating those falls truly are.. Thanks for sharing. a total pleasure to review Nickman. cheers mel
