:) :) Birds are very sensitive too! Nice looking shot. You have framed it well. The light and shadows and the framing makes the image to pop up. Thanks for sharing.

That little guy is adorable. I like how you found him with his tongue out as if to be waiting for his mom to feed him. Love the framing with the branches in the foreground. Nice sharp focus and great title.

    Karen,
Thanks a million fr your great review.
She was protesting in an attempt to scare off any other birds approaching HER food source.
This is an adult female Blackcap native to Europe.

This one is so adorable, your bird looks like its sticking out its tongue! Even though it is behind several branches you can still see the tongue clearly when you blow it up.
Well captured and perfect timing. I still had to laugh, it so reminds me of a bird giving the raspberry! LOL

Although she seems to be hiding from you, you did a great job at getting close enough to get her tounge! Such a wonderful photo with awesome focus on your subject. Wonderful work!!

    Dawn,
Thanks a million for your great review. The small birds tend to perch in the bushes which is a challenge to get photos but I keep trying.

Wish I had a better view of her but love the tongue sticking out, don't think I've ever seen that on a bird. She does sort of blend in with all the leaves and stems so I guess that is a good thing. Thanks for sharing. Susan G.

    Susan,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this little female Blackcap perched in the Rose bush. Unfortunately they tend to perch out of sight & not in the open as a rule.

I do think the bird looks funny Susan, and I don't mind the rose bush, but it is of course a pity that a part of it is half covering the eye to the right. Still I think most people looking at the photo will be preoccupied by the pink tongue sticking out.

And your photo is sharp with clear and well defined details to be seen in the bird. I also think the exposure is very good.

The way you have cropped the photo is working well, and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left. Indeed a cute, funny and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

Ha ha! It did make me smile when you see her little pink tongue poking out at you as she hides in the bushes, Susan. I quite like that you left in the rose bush in the foreground. Love all the patterns made by the stems and leaves. Very good lighting and focus. Lovely composition. Suzanne

How cute...it does look like he is sticking his tongue out at you :) I know how difficult it can be to photograph birds when they decide to set down in sticks, bushes etc. You did well with what you had to work with.

Nice job getting this pose with the tongue showing so well through the plant stems. The face and the feathers stand out nicely too, in spite of how he has taken a seat in the thick of the plants.
