A visually pleasing digital portrait painting. Itis so classical in its concept and execution and in its atmosphere. Strong light and shadow approach. Lovely work. Thanks for sharing!

A fantastic authentic period style piece showing as you describe in the narrative, this portrait from the Virginia Woolf book cover novel. The pale skin of the character reflects well a sign of class from that era, a belief that paler skin means less time out in the sun and therefore are of a higher class than those that work outdoors in manual work. This contrasts well with the well blended black and red B/G, and the neck and top of her upper clothing, a green patch to the left contrasting as it gradually fades to the dark. The facial features are in accurate proportion and a careful use of shading and textures gives good depth to the portrait, the subject looking away with a coy expression on her face that sets the tone of the piece well too. Overall a well composed piece that demonstrates a good understanding of traditional painting techniques - good work, well done :)

You did an excellent job of recreating this portrait. I really like your brush strokes and your skin tones. The mouth is well executed...difficult at this angle. The only suggestion I would make is to include Sargent I. The title so that you are not vulnerable to copyright issues as other artists have done when recreating Monet's Waterlilies or his garden paintings. Sargent is one of my favorite artists and you have done him justice.

"Mademoselle Suzanne Poirson" is the title which Sargent gave this portrait and I gave him reverence in my artist-notes.
My painting is actually the re-creation of re-creation. I never saw the original potrait by Sargent, just the recreation on my book-cover by Dover Pyblication to which I also gave reverence in my artist-notes.

Yes, I read your notes but they do not go with the piece if you sell it, hence my suggestion. It is really lovely.

This painting is not on sell. I never sell re-makes only my original paintings.
