Hi Pat thanks for sharing this amazing shot of the glacier In Kenai Mountains. wow, what a spectacular show.. the exposed rocky peaks offer such a great textural value to the scene as they soar above that dense layer of icy snow.. the angle used to capture your view is perfect.. with the dark tone of the mountain on the left and the shadowed mount on the right providing the border to frame the snow covered peak behind.. the contrasting effect is appealing to the eye and intensifies the beauty of the glacier. shows good depth of field with the blanket of icy water in the foreground. the bluish hue that envelopes the scene gives it a cool, intense and serene emotion emanating from within. there appears to be a track running through the snow in the centre of the scene.. though I wonder whether habitation occurs in such places.. the stillness is overpowering and adds to the unique beauty of this desolate and impressive location. The sky reflects nicely upon the water's surface as does the sunlight's rays shining on the ice .. thank you for sharing another amazing part of your country Pat.. always breathtaking views that are a feast for my eyes. it has been a true joy to review such beauty.. cheers mel

Your photos are always so lovely ... and this one is no exception! I love the contrast with the shade on the sides. I also really like the muted pastel blue of the overall picture. The framing is great!

Pat,
A beautiful picture of the Grewingk Glacier bathed in sunshine the snow covered slopes glistening in the light that are then reflected on the blue waters of Kachemak bay. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

A very nice shot that captures the flow of the glacier very well. The mountains are sharp. I like the composition and the cool color palette.

A very interesting point of view. Bright, sharp sun light coming in from the right. casting shadows from the peaks. A lot of depth and texture. Is is inhabitable with polar bears or seals? I just looks massive. I can not imagine something so huge. thank you so much for sharing Alaska.

October? And all frozen up? Amazing! Your classical composition grants us a very enjoyable look at your beautiful location. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done!

What a beautiful serene scene of these snow capped mountains and crystal clear water. It looks like glass, so smooth and shiny. I love the monochromatic tone of this photograph. The blues are so peaceful and soothing to view.
What a beautiful landscape.
