This is a gorgeous Eagle.
It looks awesome against that perfect blue sky.
Look at those claws, deadly but yet fascinating.
Perfect lighting.You sure have taken some great photos in Homer.
Great shot, thank you so much for sharing your world with us.

    Thank you so very very much! There are a lot of eagles in Homer and on the Kenai Peninsula if you ever come here, I highly recommend that you visit Homer!

Nice capture. It looks like it is about to pounce,probably checking out a morsel for lunch. The image seems a little unbalanced, possibly because of the low light angle.There is a lot of detail here, but then you lose some of the face and body. Maybe some selective dodging could work to even things out. I wish I had access to the amount of wild life that you have. Well spotted and taken

Pat,
A beautiful picture of this Bald Eagle perched on top of the Fish Processors building hoping for some discarded fish?? the light shining from behind it hi lighting it's tail head , neck & that sharp golden eye. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

this is something we never see in Europe; there are barely few even in the mountains;
an excellent close up portrait with beautiful sunlight in the eye;

Impressive capture!
Sharply focused fine features & textures.
Well timed still motion shot.
Gorgeous illumination.
Pale blue sky lends a perfect backdrop popping out the avian royalty nicely.
A low vantage point is more engaging!
Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

This is a beautiful capture of this eagle with excellent detail and excellent clarity.
I love the majestic stance he has and you can see the entirety of his beauty. Really a beautiful shot with a very nice blue colored sky.

That fish processing facility must have fired up this creature's instincts with all kinds of 'hungry' ideas,huh?
Your photo of it certainly is an interesting and enjoyable one,Pat! : )

I did not know that eagles land on buildings, but then again I know next to nothing about eagles either! Your full and central composition offers us an enjoyable look at your beautiful bird. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!

    Thank you so very much! Yes, they hang around where the fish is being processed. I have one photo with 4 of them on top of a shop that sells oysters.

What a magnificent bird and your photograph captures both its beauty and its strength. I love the way the sunlight plays off its talons and the many layers of wing feathers.
