What a wonderful seascape work of art, like the textures and details and depth you have created here, like the colors and brushstrokes to create this water, a pleasure to look at, thank you for sharing, dale

This is a good entry for the contest. I like how the ocean gets choppy and almost violent beneath the cloudy sky. The wave splashing over the rocks might be indicate the incoming tide. The painting might be a bit dark, but this could be due to the time of the day. The orange hues in the clouds let me think that the events occur at sunrise or sunset. The painting might be a bit dark.

Thanks Cleo, I appreciate you kind words. I think it looks a little dark as I took a photo of the finished piece so I could post.
I think the room I took it in (my studio) is a bit dark.
Your encouragement is greatly appreciated!!

It might help if you take the painting outdoors. It has worked for me to photograph art outdoors at a place with indirect light.

Yeah, good idea also.

I'm not very good with watercolors either, it's much too fast for me. Actually I think you did a reasonable job. The only thing I see that stands out is the lack of depth in the water at the horizon, I would make it darker and the water in the front lighter. The waves show movement very well. All in all a good job. Susan

Hi Allan!
I set the idea of any type of painting aside decades ago myself! ( Pencil and/or Ball point Pen is way more appealing to me! : ) )
Your painting of this waved tossed shoreline looks Great though! ( There's a 'Distant Prehistoric' tone to it that I really like! )
'Good Show',my friend!

I really like this you have caught the movement in the water very well. I love the moody colors. It has a good lead in from the left side and a sense of a good DOF. The darker sky and foreground holds the painting together. One to be proud of.

Thanks much, most of the credit for this image goes to youtube. I seem to learn better from visualization rather than text.
I appreciate your comments!
