I love this complicated work even though its not in my traditional mind frame. I love your description and the many steps it took for completion. Patience is a good word for this work but it does deserve the stars! Bravo!

Thank you so much Vicky. This was one of those pieces that took so long to finish that I came to loathe it! LOL. Next time I try a new style I will start smaller. Thank you for your stellar review.

Intriguing. Well planned and executed. I have to say you planned a whole lot for the outcome of this piece. Most of my abstracts turn out more like planned randomness. I like it you feel caught up in the tangle. Thanks for sharing it.

Wow. This is quite an amazing work Linda. I have been talking with Monica and following her i am going to take some art lessons. I cannot draw a stick man but hope to learn some of the basics. I am appreciative of your explanation of how you created this work of art. To be honest it is a bit intimidating and shows me I have no clue about how to draw or paint. At any rate I commend you for such efforts and think this is a excellent entry for the contest. Best of luck in the voting Linda ~ Steve

I am self taught. There are some wonderful videos on UTube for whatever medium you start with. You can also go on Pinterest and search for art lessons and get a slew of ideas and techniques that way. Thanks for your support.

I like this very much. It reminds me of peacock feathers. I love the colors you used and the flow works very nicely. A fun view.
I believe you have accomplished your goal very well. You worked hard and long on this piece. I believe it was well worth all you hard work,
Nicely achieved!

An amazing piece, the original of which I didn't see but this is certainly a wonderfully structured abstract piece, relevant to the theme and title - as you may have worked out I love forests and spend a lot of time in them, and this is a great artistic and imaginative rendition of a perception of the layout and feel of forest or woodland. The intricate and careful use of shading and colour & light tones gives an excellent 3D effect and th attention to detail is superb. The tones of blue in the eye like shapes work beautifully with the black in the centre of them and the brown hues of the interweaved branches - the white B/G accentuating the whole piece wonderfully. A fantastic composition and personally one of my favourite pieces of yours ;) Great work!

Very creative! I think I do remember seeing this look a little different.. I think that it would have looked good b4 as well.. It does have a labyrinth feel to it. It so fun to look at. Well done, nice colors. nice flow, and overall nice piece of art.! Thank you for sharing! :)

I think you did a nice job with the pastels. I find they can be quite tricky sometimes in the blending stages but you have created some nice highlights and the dark sections look nice and creamy. The brown throws me off a bit as it doesn't have the same sense of blending in yet being individual.

Yes. I agree. The brown bothers me too. Thank you.

this is really such a lovely piece. it has a great natural quality and also each colour is most equisite. loving the whole effect and we have a 10,000 year old wood close by. the concept, notion and the structure, are all super strong. one from an artist on top form.

An elaborately constructed image that is certainly eye catching. I like the colors as well as the composition. I don't recognize the woods, but what the hell, it is abstract isn't it? Best of luck in the contest.

I have to say, this is an amazing abstract that is very well designed and executed. The colors and shading give it a 3 dimensional look, and makes the viewer wonder why lies within those holes. I like it!

You were robbed! Your abstract is much better than all 3 of the ones they chose as winners - especially the one in 1st place.
