Thanks again Eileen, they are so loud sometimes you hear them and they can be way over the other side of the park but would think they were on tree next to you.

Hi Mary, Looking down or sideways this is a great shot! This is one crazy looking bird! The lighting and focus let us viewers get a really good look at this fellow. Love the way you fit him in the frame too! Very nice and fun to view! :o) Nancy

Mary,
A beautiful profile view of the Kookaurra perched on a branch above you seen in dappled sunlight & shadows. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

I never knew before what a kookaburra even looked like, I've never seen one! And what a great photo of this one!
It's beautifully sharp showing fine detail, especially around the eye and beak.
Exposure is very good - not easy in the dappled light - and I agree with you on the shadows, they work really well.

This is a beautiful shot of the Kookaburra; it looks so large on the well-seen branch. The small peaks of blue are nice to add a touch of color. Would like to see it less up close or crowded, but it all is lovely.

Thank you for capturing this delightful kookaburra. Yes, he is majestic and looks like he knows that he is in command of this territory.
The colors here are monochromatic and work well with the shadows. The image is crisp and shows off his beautiful feathers, eye and beak.
Bravo!

Hi Mary.. That's the trouble with wild life shots, they just never cooperate. But I think this take displays this birds disposition towards life and photogs quite plainly.

You are right about the shadowing, it certainly does work - excellent. Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of this Kookaburra.

Overall this bird is in fine focus. However the chest feathers are just a tad soft... Bob
