It's an excellent blue contest entry and a nice change from seascapes, flowers and skies!
The bird is well focused, with a lovely blurred background, which helps him stand out.
Composition, using just his head and shoulders, brings us beautifully close to be able to view every detail in him.
And your exposure is spot on, the light sky behind makes that quite tricky, but you've done a great job.

I do enjoy the bird and thank you for sharing. I think it is an excellent choice for the blue contest entry and best wishes. The sky is nicely blurred, white on one side, and the orange around the eye and whatever is happening with the mouth that is gray break up the blues nicely.

Well this dramatic shot certainly meets the main criteria of this contest.

Excellently focused foreground with a soft counter point bokeh for a background - It got my attention.

Beautiful detail of the entire head from beak to eye (Tiny catch light in the very center?).

This shade of Indigo reminds me of one of my favorite birds the Indigo Bunting - eye catching color.

This is very well done and I hope you do well in the contest... Bob

yes and it could also have been used for the bird contest,sometimes you have to weigh up what to use,anyway that aside this is a good use of dof and a close up,again i think i would have taken a vertical of this macaw and maybe you did,but still a worthy entry...Brian
