You have indeed captured this Petrel in flight really well, and the stop action is perfect. I can clearly see the little drop of water on its beak, and the bird is also standing out from the softened background in an excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the feathers of the bird. The exposure is perfect.
The cropping is working well, and the bird has been given room to fly into. It is a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

WOW! Indeed, you've captured this petrel so sharply that I can see the patterns of the wings and textures of the feathers prominently. The background is so clean that this subject got all the viewer's focus. Well placed in the framed with plenty of negative space for your petril to fly. Excellent job.

A beautiful picture of the Southern Giant-Petrel ~

Yes i got a few of seagulls when on a cruise ship a few years ago they were following the ship at least being confined to your cabin you had something to see we usually have an inside cabin when we go[its cheaper] good shot this....Brian
