These yellow lady slippers are rare. I have seen pink lady slippers in the wild though. I always head to our local arboretum in spring to photograph the yellow ones.

This image stopped me in my tracks and made me go "wow"! It really is a beautiful photograph of this rare and precious find. The background makes it just pop off the screen and the clarity is extraordinary - on the larger image I can even see all the fuzzy hairs and that's just on my phone! Your focus was spot on. I also like your placement within the frame. It's a striking image that is an excellent entry for the contest and a strong contender for the win. Glad I had a 6 left for you.

Yes, I have heard that it is rare as well, so you were very lucky to find it. You have pictured it is well, and I especially like the all dark background. It makes The Orchid stand out in an excellent way.
The photo is sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the flower. The exposure is spot on.
The square format you have cropped the photo into works well, and the Orchid has got a perfect placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Soulfeeder, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you for the description. I would've not known that. Love the plumpness of that flower leaf in front. It makes the rest of the flower more interesting. I could see an artist painting this very Georgia O'keeffe style. Feels like something from her works.
