It isn't often you see dogs with such beautiful bright blue eyes, and you have pictured this one so well. I especially like the eye contact you had with the dog when the photo was taken, and also the close and personal approach.
The focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the dog, and you have also brought out so well the fine textures of the fur.
The tight cropping has worked well, and the dog has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

A great photo too, with excellent focus and dof and perfect exposure. The only part that (for me anyway) makes it a 5 star instead of a 6 is the owner's arm and part of his chair, which rather detracts from the image. But I do understand that short of asking him to move out of the way for the photo, there's not a lot you could have done.
