Conceptual Photography
The topic for this photography contest is: Conceptual Photography.
Conceptual art, sometimes simply called Conceptualism, is art in which the concept(s) or idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic and material concerns. Many works of conceptual art, sometimes called installations, may be constructed by anyone simply by following a set of written instructions.
As a methodology conceptual photography is a type of photography that is staged to represent an idea. The 'concept' is both preconceived and, if successful, understandable in the completed image. It is most often seen in advertising and illustration where the picture may reiterate a headline or catchphrase that accompanies it. Definition from Wikipedia.
Submit a photograph that somehow incorporates the topic. The photograph should clearly be about the topic. Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
This is a photography contest. Edits of photography using software is permitted. No digital art or traditional artwork should be submitted.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Monday, January 27, 2014.
