To many cultures everything in nature has a living spirit. The whistle of the wind through the trees and the roar of the waves in the ocean are voices of spirits. It is said if man angered the spirit of nature will answer with tremendous fury, volcanoes will erupt and hurricanes destroy the land. If the spirits are content trees will raise again. The spirits of nature control nature if we respect them they will be good to us.
In Greek mythology there were Tree spirits called Dryad's, Meliai and Hamadryad. Kodama is a similar Japanese spirit and in Scotland there is Ghillie Dhu and there are others…
