Sometime ago I stumbled over a prompt at FanStory. The writers were given some lines to write a flash fiction story using them. One of the punch lines, a silly one of curse, got my immediate attention and brought a silly story and equal silly picture into my head. The punch line was: The Lizard wore a Black Hat. So what one does with it? My answer is above.

Thanks to some of your reviews I realize that the fact of replacing quotation marks with question marks is the cause of some confusion in understanding the story. I took the quotation marks of but now there is no way to distinguish the two persons, the patient [thinking] and the nurse [talking]. I hope the paragraphs will help. If not here is the quintessence. A patient with a rather minor injury is waking up in a hospital and confuses dream [the beach] and reality [the hospital and a blizzard].
