The Blue-gray Gnatcatcher [Polioptila caerulea] is one of the smallest birds songbirds found in the eastern and southwestern United States, Mexico, Northern Central America, Cuba, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos and Grand Caiman.
It inhabits open areas in low and medium forest, feeding on small insects. It builds small nests using plant fibers. Its constant movement along branches of trees and brushes makes it hard to see and photograph.
