I had promised myself I would not post any more photos from Auschwitz. I am not even sure if my photo is right for the contest. I feel this is more strong than just â??The Ugly Side of Lifeâ?? . This is the evil side of life. When I was walking through the camp it was a big house where they kept items once belonging to the prisoners. It was divided in to small rooms where we could see through a glass window these suitcases. What you are seeing here is just a few. It was thousands. The next window was full of glasses, the next shoes, the next toothbrushes and combs etc. All these items were taken from people who ended in the gas chambers. As you now understand these suitcases were shot through glass. The purple reflections to be seen are from the windows on the opposite wall. I know the photo is not the best, but it tells a story, and looking at it still brings tears to my eyes. On one of the suitcases is written â??Petr Eisler â?? Childâ??. Visiting Auschwitz made me realize how precious life is, and left me in awe for those who lost their lifes.
