This is one of my experimental pieces. I want to do a piece a week where my heart leads and I just do and not think. This study took half an hour to do and was very liberating to create. A friend of mine wrote the following poem and asked if I could do a pic for it, I wanted to create a natural and mystical feel, here it is...
The Cross
There is a cross upon a hill,
fashionèd in stone;
Witness to a thousand dawns,
majestically alone.
Centuries have come and gone,
moons have waxed and waned;
Beneath the ballet of the spheres
eternity has reigned.
Placed by ancients on that peak
it's mysteries endure;
Revered for generations yet
untarnishèd and pure.
Pilgrims in reflection kneel
to seek before their god,
humility with which to pass
where divine feet have trod.
There is a cross upon a hill,
a sanctuary of peace;
Refuge of the weary soul,
where solitude has lease.
