The walls were standing but all the lovely frescoes was nearly gone. When I get into an old church like this I always get a special feeling. It is even hard to lift my camera. I am in awe about these ancient people who created this. I am sure they had something we have lost. You don't need to be religious to get this special feeling. How beautiful must this have been in its prime. I feel humble for generations living so many years ago. They were the creators of this beauty. Still we know that this area in Greece was not just peaceful, but with tribes fighting each other. So human. So like us. Still I am in awe over a sight like this. I could walk around Mystras for days and find new things all the time- I wanted you you see this picture untouched- One of the few I post without any influence of what I can do to a photo .
