The weather has gotten cooler now in October and so has the water! Now the fish are starting to get closer to the surface so the herons are coming back to their hunting grounds! I live close to this lake and keep an eye on it daily! When I saw this guy sitting on this stump that I was going to get an action shot! He will either fly or catch a fish or both! I had to wait a long time for this. I had let my camera rest on my shoulder straps and I was looking off, this is when he sees the fish and dives in! I was not ready for that but I got him coming out of the water with a nice catch! I am using an Olympus E3 camera with a 70/300mm lens ISO 400 1000/sec f9.5
