This is a female Ruby Throated humming bird! They have gone now. I will miss the little guys! They will fly down through Florida and go across the keys and will go across the Gulf of Mexico to the Yucatan peninsula and some will go to central America! Such a long way for such a tiny bird! I had four feeders hanging from the roof of my deck and these birds was busy from dawn to dusk! I sat on a stool with my camera and flash mounted on a monopod and spent hours trying to get a good shot! I would shot two or three hundred shots and only get a few good ones! These guys are hard to get! I an using an Olympus E3 camera ISO 400 70-300mm lens 1500/sec f9.5 with an external flash.
