This is Casper, the brother of Beauty. He is about twice the size of Beauty and is very laid back. He spends a lot of time sleeping, I think dreaming that he is a lion because he has such a fluffy mane. These rag doll cats differ from other cats in that the pupils of their eyes are round rather than a slit like shape, so they often look rather scared. I usually do animal portraits in chalk pastels but thought I'd try oil paint for this as a change. I used Winsor & Newton Artisan water soluble oils on a canvas block.
