This is a Great Blue heron. I watch the water of a local public fishing lake on a daily basis hoping to see these birds! Sometimes they are very elusive, sometimes they will be more interested in fishing than watching you. This guy was standing on this stump and I was standing there watching him. I knew he would either go in after a fish or fly. Either way I knew I would get something. All I had to do was wait. I am using an Olympus E3 camera ISO 400 with a 70-300mm lens 1000/sec f8
