This is a great blue heron. I feel fortunate to have found a heron rookery! They get in the tallest sycamore tree they can find. I have a 300mm lens and these birds are at maximum range. This is one nest of twelve! Two birds per nest. There is a lot of noise! Squawk! Is the sound! It is in a remote area in a creek bottom land far away from people! I have to get there on my four wheeler! I am using an Olympus E3 camera ISO 800 with a 70-300mm lens 3500/sec f5.6
