This is a Robber Fly. They are insect predators. I like seeing the hairs but the thing I like best is his feet! I shot this from my car window. I was trying to photograph a butterfly when this thing landed on a guard rail right in front of me! This was not taken with a macro lens. My camera has a very good sensor so if I get a good close up I can crop it in very close.
I am using an Olympus E3 camera ISO 400 with a 70-300mm lens 750/sec f8
