Bottlebrush

In the gardens of one of the many wineries visited in McLaren Vale was this bottlebrush. Normally flowering in spring it was unusual to see the autumn bloom but as we have just had an "indian summer" the plant must have got confused with seasons. The Callistemon (bottlebrush) is endemic to Australia and comes in various shades of red.
