The Mysteries of Light and Shadows Contest Entry
You can own this. Offers accepted. Information
Avalon, the island of Apples, appears in the Arthurian Legends since the twelfth century. It is the legendary island, were ArthurĂ¢??s sword Excalibur was forced into stone and Arthur where brought after he was mortally wounded in the battle of Camlann. The legend claimed that Arthur never died; but remains at Avalon until his messianic return to lead his people against their enemies. Avalon is also the legendary birthplace of Morgan le Fay.
I was thinking about merging the image of Arthur into the photo; but decided against any mixed media work since the photo itself seems to be a mystery. This photo is the most amazing of about fifty pictures I took on this special morning a time ago. All I did with the program was to increase the shadows and the saturation slightly and crop the picture. I was searching the internet for hours on end, but could not find a complete satisfying explanation of the event until today.
Sony DSC-H9, f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 100, focal 5 mm, with available light, taken shortly after sunrise at 7:52 am, date and location will be published after the contest has ended.
