Shoes Tell All Contest Entry
It was one of those days. We started at 3:00 am to the airport, the nearest to home. 4,500 miles air travel ahead. Now it is dusk. There was some security issue at the airport. Our flight was delayed, we missed the connection flight. Now we waiting for another flight; but that is one of those days! The weather turned bad, thunderstorms and more flight delays. We are tired, but afraid to sleep because we could miss the boarding call. The waiting area is below a hallway which has glass on both sides. People walk from and to their plains. We are watching through the glass wall. We see the people and through the glass wall behind them, we see the last of the daylight in the overcast sky. We see reflection from lights behind us mixing with the pictures behind in the glass. It is almost surreal; the people walking above are silhouettes, shadows. Our tired brains imagine stories. Who are those shadows? From where they are, where do they go and why? Who owned those shoes??
