I just had to put this one on- not because of the trip but the rain--YES IT RAINS IN INDIA!!!!-Going up to Nainital for a couple of weeks break from the heat of Delhi in July, I went on a bus trip to some famous places (please don't ask me about the bus!). A family on the bus befriended me, dad looked after their children and mum made it her business to tell me all about the places and cultures- In England, though I am a teacher and truly love my pupils, I often lead a terribly lonely life, as no one cares a bean if you live or die, as long as they get their alloted benefits, but in India there is no such things as being lonely. I looked into the lake and the lilies bounced as the rain fell on them in huge flakes. It was a beautifully, cooling experience. In the UK if you complain about behaviour from a none caucasian you (me) are instantly a racist, unheard of in India- a thief is a thief, is a criminal- no one would dream of such reverse racist rubbish..especially as my grandson is mixed race. The only thing which amazed the ladies was how poor I am, no gold nor silver, cheap s/h clothes and shoes, sadly all was robbed in the UK by the mattresses of the Black boys-who came in after the black boys did their robbing, half a dozen of them.
