Oh man did I get excited when I saw the topic of this contest. lil history of my travels in my medium. Back in the 60's papermates flair was introduced. Kinda cool with the marker concept but didn't have a sharpe or fine tip for detail work. Sharpie (Sanford corp.) already had the permanent black marker out there and saw the big response to the flair pens. Thus entered the sharpie razor tip pen in the early 70's. Now sharpie only had 4 basic colors(black, red, blue and green) I had to improvise using a yellow highlight for that extra color. So doing black and white posters back in the 70's of rock artist..Well lets say I have at least a decade of doing that. Made cool presents and only if I had a record of all I did then for presents to whoever..Well that's a different story..What better way to kick off those long past years is to pay tribute to the greatest guitarist (ranked #1 on many charts) Jimi Hendrix. I have done many of him before. I didn't know this lil info about jimi..some years before he left the states and went to London to start the group "the experience" his mother convince him to go play with one of cousins band who was doing the back ups for BBKing.. So jimi played back up for BB for about 10 month before leaving the states. That's explains it..When I hear jimi hendrix do the song "red house" I can hear BB"s influence all over it...I SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD. I AM A SHARPIE ARTIST!(and maybe the oldest one too..hehe)yall comeon back now yahear!
