Have you ever been to Rajasthan? It is in north of India. The rollicking James Bond film 'Octopussy' was filmed there. You must have seen the mustache men of all ages wearing colorful turbans in different style and patterns. Have ever wondered how and why such different type of colorful turbans they wear?

Once you experience the royal culture of Rajasthan, you will be amazed with the variations of colorful turbans. Surprisingly, in some parts of the region, the size of turban indicates the position of the person in the society they live and also used to maintain the temperature of head during the different seasons.

Rajput Mustache is a symbol of dignity and caste status and the lion-like fighter spirit of Rajput soldiers. Due to the influx of globalization and modernization young men in Rajasthan prefer to be clean shaven. But the tradition still lives through the well-kept older generations, who sport some of the most beloved mustaches of the world.
I did this on Canson acid-free drawing paper 9"x12" using graphite pencils, 2B,4B,HB and 8B.
ENJOY!
