A while ago, when I posted the picture, I ask for your own interpretation. As expected the palette of thoughts was very wide spread. Did you come up with your own explanation yet? Yes? Good, that is what I wanted. Now it is time to tell you what I was trying to say. My good friend donkeyoatey said, that the character feels like a modern Olympian god having a tantrum. That is indeed pretty close; just that I was thinking of modern mankind [hence the baseball cap], who thinks he is master of the universe, but only understanding it on a certain technical level ; without truly understanding it in all its dept and mysteries. That modern human has indeed lots of power, power which could be used to the good of the universe or to its destruction, if modern human gets the tantrums.

The background was painted using several Smithsonian and National Geographic magazines as reference. It was given through different filters. Some sky bodies were created separately others are from my clip art collection. They were also filtered and added in different layers to create more dept. The silhouette was created after one of my photos and added as another layer. All layers were merged before giving the final touch with paintbrushes.
