A story of light and shadows

The Light of the Moon

It is winter. The night has fallen. Thin clouds filter the light of the full moon. The snow reflects the light. The night is almost as light as a day. The sound of wings is in the air. A shadow covers the light. It last only a second or two. A spirit, a bird what was it, or just a play of light.

Well that is my story and I stick to it. Of course it is not true. The picture was taken on a foggy day; the sky was looking like a plate of lead. There was no light shining through. An uncooperative Tropical Mockingbird took off just as I was set up to take his portrait. A mostly gray bird with a clipped wing on a gray sky is not exciting. I put the picture in the program and played with filters. The moonlight was created with a combination of back light, film grain and accentuation filters.
