I want to thank Donkeyoaty for allowing me to use his photograph as the inspiration and reference for this pointillism drawing. The entire drawing is done using the Seurat pointillism method, where pure dots of color are used to create and imperialistic type piece of artwork. Each dot is laid down by hand to create a color harmony where the viewer is required to become actively engage to help create the flow, to help blend the colors into a cohesive image. The artist responsibility is to get the colors laid down in such a way as the help the viewer create that connection and coordination between the colors to make it happen. The main questions are of course, does the artist abilities, technique draw you into the image. If the artist gets the viewer of the artwork to do that, then the piece is considered a success. In the end, as in most endeavors in art, each individual viewer decides the success or failure of the artwork. So for you did this piece work?
