Cork Tree

A remnant of the private botanical garden from the late 1800's the cork tree stands tall. A sturdy mesh fence has been placed around the base of the tree to stop people taking the cork although after 25 years apparently it can be stripped of its bark (cork) every 9 years and it will regenerate. I really liked the texture of this bark.
