here in memphis we have been struggling the last few years what to do with Nathan Bedford Forrest monument. Those who dont know the history of this gentleman he was the very 1st imperial wizard of the Klu Klux Klan and was fro0m memphis..now true he was a general in the confederate army during the civil war and this monument was erected in his honor many decades ago. However his actions after the war is what is a slap in the face to current memphoians today. his statue is only a few blocks away from the civil rights museum which really makes it a contridiction. savannah, tn mayor offer to not only move it but to cover all expenses to move it to their town which has a national park. the organization "sons of confederate veterans" were protesting saying it is their heritage..so what i thought i would do is show them what other citizens see when they view this statue. im sending this to the Commercial Appeal Newspaper and the local memphis channels hoping that will help the fight to get this statue out of memphis,. yeah im not joking for a change but as american citizens we r united under one flag and one flag only. I served my country for that all men and women r equal....and my flag i will honor will be the stars and stripes that represents freedom...sorry rednecks put it in the musuem if u want to honor ur flag...yall comeon back now...yhear! wink
