A little history on this image; this is another one of my pointillism pen and ink drawings. This is a collage I did of various birds of prey, which was a commissioned piece for an educational pamphlet. I retained the rights so I could sell it as a limited edition print. Yes, all the dots were placed by hand using a quill tipped pen, dipping it from a ink well and then placing the dots on the paper, and then dipping once again, and so on and so forth until it was completed, this was before I discovered the rapidograph pen (The rapidograph pen has a cartridge that you can fill with ink, makes the process go a little faster).
