Iron ore is red in colour. It is rusty red due to iron oxides.
I took this shot in an iron ore mine in Goa, India where I was working a decade ago. Goa is not only world famous for tourism (read booze and drugs) , but also for iron ore and pouring rains.
Camera: Canon SX130IS, handheld, standard settings, image slightly cropped and re-sized to FAR requirements.
