Digital Artwork of the Month Contest Winner

A young Northern Cardinal is posing, hoping to attract a mate.
The common English name is misleading because the Northern Cardinal [Cardinal cardinalis] is native to most of the eastern and central United States, Mexico and parts of Central America. While some birds stay all year around, others from temperate climates migrate to warmer regions for the winter.
Although some birds are polygamous. Most are monogamous for at least one breeding season. Some will stay monogamous and reunite with their mates each breeding season through their life.
