I have been amazed at the ''tiredness'' of sons as they grew up. In my home one was not permitted to do 'nothing'.. my poor old dad complained to me - I am retired now, all these years on shifts 6-2 and now she /mum/ was waking him up at 6 am as she didn't sleep any longer than that, so felt everyone else was the same. Same when I was home, I went to work everyday and on Sundays she would wake me up with a scowl at 8 am.. still in bed? Time for Mass.. oh well, and now I can rest and can't as the habit it too great..however I have a secret ally for resting, my tv-- you see, if I watch tv I am doing something so am not racked by guilt, /painting it not resting, I concentrate deeply/ My sons laugh at me and my telly- I live alone and I love my telly, where ever I go-I knew all the chinese channels when I was teaching there, I always pay extra for a tv in my room when going on hols abroad, local tv tells you lots it would take you years to discover..when my children were growing up I rarely managed to see tv and now find that for the first time, I am seeing WHOLE films....not this bit or that bit...sometimes I think I am watching a new film and find it is one from which I had seen half an hour..
