Body Parts Contest Entry
For this contest I thought I would post our largest organ, skin. It is the largest and fastest growing organ we have. We often just think of it as a thin covering over our muscles that bleeds when injured. It is actually a living organ with a huge impact on our overall systems. Here are some of the things in our skin (not for the faint of heart!) dermal papillae arrectorpili muscle sebaceous gland hair follicles eccrine sweat ducts eccrine sweat glands meissrers corpuscle ateriovenous plexus Yikes, do not know what these do but are vital to our lives. For this image I used a clip on macro lens that covered the iPhone camera lens. It is a quick way to get zoomed in, not at the same level as a dedicated macro lens. I just wanted to play around with it none the less.
