On a vacation to San Francisco one of my places to see was Alcatraz Penitentiary. It is located on an island in San Francisco Bay and you must take a ferry to reach it. This is one of the keys the Prison Guards used to lock the cells. It was a very interesting place to visit and the last prisoners were relocated to other Federal prisons in the 1960's
