Black and White Photo Contest Contest Entry
Taken one night last August when the moon was playing peek-a-boo with the clouds and the tree tops. Took a number of shots and kept this one for future posting. I kept on looking at it and was not too thrilled by the capture. Then this B&W contest appeared and I thought - hmmmm! So I converted it to B&W; but there was still something missing - or actually there was too much. So, I started to adjust the shadows and as I did so, the tree trunks started to fade away and I got to this point where I thought I really liked what I saw; or maybe what I no longer saw.
So as I'm working on the shot I'm listening to Pandora, and all of a sudden they start playing Cat Stevens' "I'm Being Followed by a MoonShadow" - and I just started to crack up.
So, this is my homage to that lovely song and here are the words and a link to youtube if ya wanna hear it for yourself:
"Oh, I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moon shadow, moonshadow---
Leapin and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow---
And if I ever lose my hands, lose my plough, lose my land,
Oh if I ever lose my hands, Oh if I won't have to work no more.
And if I ever lose my eyes, if my colours all run dry,
Yes if I ever lose my eyes, Oh if I won't have to cry no more.
Oh, I'm bein' followed by a moonshadow, moon shadow, moonshadow---
Leapin and hoppin' on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow---
And if I ever lose my legs, I won't moan, and I won't beg,
Yes if I ever lose my legs, Oh if I won't have to walk no more.
And if I ever lose my mouth, all my teeth, north and south,
Yes if I ever lose my mouth, Oh if I won't have to talk...
Did it take long to find me? I asked the faithful light.
Did it take long to find me? And are you gonna stay the night?
Moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow"
