At the MN Zoo they have Bactrian Camels to ride. They also have camels that just get to lounge in their environment. This guy was very social and seemed to enjoy giving people a lift and trying to give them kisses!

Bactrian camels are called "ships of the desert" because when they walk, they move their front and back legs on the same side of the body at the same time, creating a rolling motion like a ship at sea.

These camels have two humps that store fat, allowing them to survive with little food or water for extended periods of time. Special blood cells store fluids to keep them healthy even when they are dehydrated. These guys can drink 15 gallons of water at a time.
